Toy Story 5 Teaser Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story movie was released, launching the animation giant as a leading animation studio and introducing viewers to beloved characters like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, offering a glimpse into the plot but keeping viewers curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Toys
In the teaser shows the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a latest toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the teaser avoids is what Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in the familiar setting unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. The clip displays the badge attached to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
