Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
