President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Response

Community members gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support public safety in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the head of her former high school, told the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
