Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's departure on Monday.

McKenna's Position on Celtic

McKenna referred to Celtic as "an enormous football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties assumed control of Portman Road in 2021 and guided the team to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last season as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in England's second tier.

"I have not had such conversations," the London-born ex- Irish youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any part of my focus is this week.

"I possess a unique job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Everything external hasn't reached my radar."

Context and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about those. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a fresh four-year contract in last year and was asked about his reported buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he replied. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker represented Celtic on temporary transfer from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Wales striker is inclined to finish the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are presently third in their World Cup group behind leaders the Red Devils and second-placed Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would secure their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but assured of reaching that stage, thanks to a successful European competition performance, even if they fail to end up Group J runners-up.

Given his present position, the Wales manager, whose agreement expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the qualifying matches at the earliest.
