Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
