Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents outline the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
