Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Adds to the English team's Fitness Problems.

'Major setback' for the touring side after Atkinson is forced off with a hamstring injury.

Gus Atkinson further complicated England's injury problems upon exiting the ground during Saturday's play of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

The right-arm seamer felt a problem in his left hamstring post-delivery in his spell during the morning session.

The England team reported Atkinson felt some "soreness" and would spend time away from the action for further assessment "over the next few hours".

The series decider of the series at the SCG starts this coming Sunday.

England have been without fast bowlers Mark Wood to a knee injury and another paceman to a side strain on this Ashes tour.

Matthew Fisher was brought into the squad as cover for Wood.

The seamer had a tough time early in the series, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.

He was dropped from the previous Test, only to be brought back for the fourth Test in the playing XI.

Atkinson performed better in the fourth Test, taking two wickets in Australia's first innings, before adding 28 as a batsman as one of just three English batsmen to get into double digits.

Following a brief spell late on the first day, he resumed the next day and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.

Unfortunately, towards the conclusion of that over, he sent down a slower ball to the batsman and immediately felt at his leg.

The English bowler was brought back for the fourth Ashes Test following his omission the previous Test.
